Dr Cezary Mazurek

Dr Cezary Mazurek is the Deputy Director for Technology of Poznan Supercomputing and Networking Center (PSNC) in Poland (www.man.poznan.pl). He received his PhD in Computer Science from Poznan University of Technology in 2004. His expertise and experience is focused on broadly understood network services of research infrastructures. For over 20 years of professional ctivity at PSNC he has been leading and innovating within interdisciplinary teams, in which computer scientists and researchers from different domains (e.g. life sciences, media, humanities) worked together to overcome the barriers in their research with the use of advanced e-Infrastructure. The very recent area of his research activity is focused on methods and models for Big Data processing as well as Next Generation Internet services.

Since the very beginning of PSNC, Dr Mazurek has been working on development and deployment of research infrastructures in Poland and in Europe, integrating a variety of specialized software components into consistent systems for scientific experiments and end-user network services, including digital libraries, interactive television, telemedicine. He has been the manager of numerous projects in those fields coordinated by PSNC, including the Wielkopolska Center for Telemedicine. He is also a cofounder of ICTBioMed – International Consortium for Technology in Biomedicine consortium.

For last 10 years he has participated in over 15 European research projects focused on new tools and services (e.g. GÉANT, Wf4Ever, EVEREST, eCloud, SCAPE).

Currently he is a member of GÉANT Program Planning Committee and Software Coordinator in H2020 GÉANT Project.

He is the author or co-author of over 100 papers in professional journals and conference proceedings.
